Summer 1 - 2016

In year 3, our topic is ‘The Olympics’ and we have been learning about the modern Olympics and the Olympics that were held in the Greek times. Also, we are thinking about the games that were chosen to be done by the athletes like running, swimming, javelin and hammer throw.

In Maths we are learning about shapes and angles like right angles, acute angles, obtuse angles and reflex angles and we have been trying to find some angles on shapes. Also we are looking at parallel lines which are lines that never meet and perpendicular lines are lines that meet and make a right angle.

In English we are learning about traditional poems and we have looked at poems by a man called Robert Louis Stevenson like ‘In a Railway Carriage’ and ‘The Land of Counterpane’. Also we wrote poems similar to these and we have made rhyming counterpanes.
