November 2014

This term we have been learning our times tables, especially our 3s and 4s.  Our new topic is ‘Eat Up’ and we have been learning about how the body digests food.  In the playground we all joined together to pretend we were a piece of meat.  Then we were swallowed by a giant who digested us in his mouth, then his stomach and finally his small intestine.  On the way we began to split up and the nutrients were carried into the blood vessels and travelled around the body.   In Computing we have been solving problems and have become bug fixers.  In Geography we have been learning about where the cities, mountains and rivers are in the United Kingdom.  Birch Class have been busy writing some instructions and poems this term.  We have really enjoyed reading and watching Michael Rosen’s poems especially ‘Chocolate Cake’.  We wrote poems about animals and we wrote a class rhyming poem but it wasn’t quite as funny as Michael Rosen’s ones.  We have been trying to learn how to tell the time; sometimes we have tried to do this in Roman Numerals!  In Art we have painted some pictures about an autumn path.
